What To Expect.....

Newborn

  • Props available for use include; blankets, wraps, headbands & bows, hats, baskets, banners, several background & floor options
  • photo release
  • We want a sleepy baby to capture those sweet adorable poses and moments! Please plan accordingly, feed baby prior to leaving for your session and allow them to fall into a deep sleep if you have a long drive, otherwise plan to feed baby upon arrival since babies usually sleep well after a nice full tummy.
  • Try to keep baby awake 1-2 hours prior to leaving for their photo session to ensure they will want a nice nap after their full tummy. This is one of the most important steps when preparing for their newborn session! Play with them, keep them awake before they get a nice long feed!
  • A pacifier is helpful for soothing and can also allow them to get into a deep sleep so please bring one along.
  • The room temp will be between approximately 80 degrees so dress accordingly!
  • Newborns are so new and fresh and best captured in the nude, anticipate that their will be an accident or two….;) pack extra diapers, and a change of clothes! Don’t forget a backup for you too ( just in case!)

Maternity

  • When choosing what to wear, keep in mind that patterns or graphics can clash with the background and also draw attention away from the face, therefore it is recommended that solid color clothing is worn.
  • Add textures: layers, hats, jackets, scarfs, jewelry etc…
  • It is recommended to stay away from sleeveless, at a minimum choose a capped sleeve.
  • Mixup clothing style to get a contrasting look between photos.

Baby & Children

When planning a photo session with kids, it can be stressful for mom & dad! When you arrive, let me do the work :)

I know many parents try to get babies attention but all it does is distract them from me and the camera. Let me play with

them and watch the process work! I love getting to know your children! If they are shy in the beginning that’s ok! I will get a

          smile eventually :)

***Remember to relax and lets have some family fun! Those are the moments we are trying to capture and

         trust me it will show!

Family

When planning a photo session with kids, it can be stressful for mom & dad this I know! When you arrive, let me do the work :)

You are warned——-I will be touching everyone! :) I will reposition a face or grab a hand and put it exactly where it will look good!

I will be sure hair is in place and skirts are down, mom & dad don’t forget about yourself, keep your posture good and be sure your chin isn’t pulling in which can leave an unflattering image.

I know many parents try to get babies attention but all it does is distract them from me and the camera.

I love getting to know your children! If they are shy in the beginning that’s ok! I will get a smile eventually :)

What to Wear.......

 -my general rule of thumb

  • pick a color palette that you would like to see hanging on our wall all year.
  • start with what mom is wearing and build outfits from there.
  • Best to leave logos off clothing.
  • matching is out; coordinating is in.
  • add textures: layers, hats, scarfs, or jewelry
  • checkout Pinterest for Family Photography outfit ideas!

Please let me know if you have any questions! Looking forward to meeting you!
